My Body My Choice
As a woman who was born and raised in Iran, my journey has been marked by a profound curiosity about the underlying motivations behind the oppressive government's regulation of women's bodies. It wasn't until I ventured abroad at the age of 24 that I experienced the liberating sensation of walking in public without the constraints of a veil. 'My Body, My Choice' represents my earnest endeavor to delve into the profound potency of the female form, as observed through a distinctly female perspective.
I embark on a contemplative exploration, questioning the perplexing paradox where female body imagery remains either censored or ruthlessly exploited, while, paradoxically, in 2023, society continues to police women's nipples on social media platforms, in stark contrast to their male counterparts. Through an intimate recognition of my own body, I aspire to cast a luminous spotlight on the fundamental significance of safeguarding a woman's autonomy over her own body. Simultaneously, this creative journey serves as my personal quest to reclaim agency over my own physical vessel, ultimately echoing the resounding call for women's empowerment and bodily sovereignty.
